The image showcases the meticulously detailed plans and elevations of two of Rome's most iconic structures: Trajan's Column and the Column of Marcus Aurelius, also known as the Antonine Column. Trajan's Column, depicted on the left, is a triumphal column built to commemorate Emperor Trajan's victories in Dacia (modern-day Romania) between 101 and 106 AD. The column, standing at approximately 35 meters tall, is adorned with intricate bas-reliefs that narrate the military campaigns and their aftermath. The plan illustrates the circular base, the tapering shaft, and the elaborate Corinthian capital. On the right, the Column of Marcus Aurelius, or the Antonine Column, is shown in elevation.
