This print depicts two brave Australian diggers, Lieutenant Walter Joseph O'Grady of the 17th Battalion AIF, enlisted January 11, 1915, and returned to Australia March 23, 1919, and Private Alfred Tapp Temple-Smith of the 1st Cyclist Battalion AIF, enlisted May 22, 1916, and returned to Australia December 21, 1917, entertaining each other with an impromptu musical performance using their frying pans as instruments. Surrounding them is a lively parade of Australian animals and birds, each carrying rifles and saluting in honor of these heroic soldiers.
