Rosenberg, showcases two exquisite flowers from the mid-19th century: the yellow-flowered Gastrolobium cuneatum and the deep purple-flowered Linaria reticulata. The print was created for Thomas Moore's The Garden Companion and Florist's Guide, published by Charles Frederick Cheffins in 1852. Rosenberg was a prolific botanical illustrator, contributing many drawings and engravings to Moore's The Gardeners' Magazine of Botany and W.J. Hooker's Curtis's Botanical Magazine during the same period. Moore, who served as the curator of the Botanic Garden, Chelsea, from 1847 until his death, was a respected figure in the horticultural world.
