Linaria, commonly known as toadflax, is a diverse and vibrant genus of flowering plants. One species, Linaria vulgaris or Common toadflax, displays beautiful orange nectar guides on its lower lip and boasts a long spur. Found in South Croydon, Surrey, England, the Purple toadflax (Linaria purpurea) thrives on the verge of footpaths, adding a splash of color to the landscape. In Surrey's Park Downs, the Pale toadflax (Linaria repens) can be spotted. This rare plant is a true gem in this region. It attracts pollinators like the Garden bumblebee (Bombus hortorum), which can often be seen visiting the Purple toadflax in Monmouthshire.
