The date is February 1944, and the Blitz continues to wreak havoc on the city. In the foreground, firemen stand beside drums of lubricant that have been salvaged and extinguished. The firemen, dressed in their protective gear and carrying hoses and other equipment, are focused on their task, their faces set with determination.
