Henry William Paget, 1st Marquess of Anglesey, British soldier. Paget served in Flanders (1794), Holland (1799) and the Peninsular War (1808). In 1812 he succeeded his father as Earl of Uxbridge. Paget was commander of the British cavalry at Waterloo where he lost a leg. In honour of his role in the battle, the Prince Regent made him Marquess of Anglesey
