The barge of Edgar manned by eight kings on the Dee, 1864. Edgar I, known as Edgar the Peaceful or the Peaceable, was King of England from 959 to 975. Six kings in Britain, including the King of Scots and the King of Strathclyde, pledged faith they would be the kings liege-men on sea and land.
