Earth science is the study of the Earth and its components, including the atmosphere, hydrosphere, biosphere, geosphere and pedosphere. It encompasses many different disciplines such as geology, meteorology, oceanography and hydrology. Earth scientists use a variety of tools to study the planet's physical processes such as plate tectonics, climate change and natural hazards.
