Gelatine dry plate glass negative photographs showing the scrapping of the SS Great Eastern in 1889-1890 at Rock Ferry on the River Mersey, by Henry Bath and Son. View of the starboard side of the Great Eastern, image is difficult to see but appears to show the ship on land (the tide is out). Rope or chain runs from the anchor fitting to the ground, with a ladder further down the ship. A small boat or barge is pulled up alongside, next to a walk way going up onto the deck of the ship. A second boat or barge is visible towards the stern of the ship. The hull appears almost intact, with three funnels or masts visible. The paddle wheel is also visible

16x12 Print in an MDF Wooden Frame with 180 gsm Satin Finish Paper. Glazed using shatter proof thin plexiglass. Frame thickness is 1 inch and depth 0.75 inch. Fluted cardboard backing held with clips. Supplied ready to hang with sawtooth hanger and rubber bumpers. Spot clean with a damp cloth. Packaged foam wrapped in a card.
