The Dragon of Wantley is England's most famous dragon legend. Back in the time of Queen Elizabeth I, the Yorkshire village of Wantley was attacked by a fearsome, fire breathing dragon. This monster terrorized the countryside until at last he was vanquished by the bravest young knight in the land, More of More Hall. A dragon is a legendary creature, typically with serpentine or reptilian traits, that features in the myths of many cultures.
