The Shannon is the latest class of all-weather lifeboat to join the RNLI fleet. She's the first modern all-weather lifeboat to be propelled by waterjets instead of traditional propellers, making her our most agile and manoeuvrable all-weather lifeboat yet.
Llandudno Lifeboat Station was established in 1861, and has a long history of bravery, with accolades including Bronze Medals for heroism, long-service medals, and MBEs. Key honours include the 1919 Bronze Medal for a dramatic schooner rescue, and recent recognition for extensive rescues involving the depicted Shannon-class lifeboat.
