But Thimble, who was born just over a week ago to Twilight, one of Rons ex-seaside donkeys, surprised even him. For Thimble is the smallest donkey he has ever seen - only eighteen inches from hoof to eartips and weighing a mere 24lb. Shes so small that Ron was able to take her for a bus ride, as you can see in this picture. For shorter trips, Thimble fits comfortably into a dolls pram. August 1965 P011881. © Mirrorpix
