In this intriguing historical image from the annals of the paranormal, we witness a pivotal moment in the mesmeric treatment session between renowned French physician Franz Mesmer (1734-1815) and one of his patients, circa 1773. The scene unfolds in a dimly lit room, where Mesmer, with a focused expression, holds two magnetic rods, believed to be the instruments of his healing powers.
