The image showcases Dona Marina at the center, serving as an interpreter during a crucial meeting between Montezuma II and Hernan Cortes in Tenochtitlan, November 1519. The Aztec drawing from the Codex Florentino, created around c1540, beautifully captures this pivotal encounter.
