Measuring approximately 8.9x8.9 cm, the dial plate is made of square gilt-brass and exhibits beautifully engraved fan spandrels surrounding a knurled later bezel. A white metal champleve chapter ring once raised on a pierced and engraved domed bell cover adorns the center, marked with flowerhead half hour markers and a 24-hour ring. The movement of this exceptional timepiece consists of square plates supported by four square section baluster pillars. It features a fusee with a later chain for the time train and a fixed steel barrel for the strike train. The back plate includes steel turn catches (one replaced) and houses a calibrated countwheel for striking on bell (although currently lacking).
