He was baptised by the missionary John Mason at Putiki on 25 December 1842, and took the name Hori Kingi (George King). It is possible that this photograph is from a group of images that Bishop took of some Maori leaders who met at Kohimarama to discuss the Treaty of Waitangi in 1860.); New Zealander, out of copyright
