The Swinton works of the Great Western Railway are busy on the annual programme of renewals and additions of rolling stock for their system - the outstanding feature of the rolling stock renewals is the building of two new ten-unit kitchen-car centre corridor trains for big parties such as tourist traffic and excursions - ten more Castle class engines similar to those used on the Cheltenham Flyer ( the worlds fastest steam train ) are being built and sixty tank engines are included in the 1935 programme - photo shows electrically welding superheater tubes for the boiler of the Castle class locomotives at the Swindon works
