Philip Wills, the man on the left, was a renowned British aviation pioneer and test pilot. He began his career in the Royal Flying Corps during World War I and went on to set numerous aviation records throughout the 1920s and 1930s. Wills' daring exploits in the cockpit earned him the nickname "Phil the Thrill." Constance Babington-Smith, the elegant woman in the middle, was a pioneering British aviation journalist and editor.
