This classic picture shows one of the LFBs first emergency tenders, a Dennis motor pump, introduced in 1904. These Dennis fire engines carried the first breathing apparatus sets and various lighting equipment, together with some basic lifting and metal cutting tools likely to be needed at non-fire emergencies which were beginning to occur at the time. This emergency tender was based at Clerkenwell Fire Station
