African Penguin Collection

The African Penguin, also known as the Jackass Penguin, is a species of penguin found in southern Africa, and is the only species of penguin that breeds in Africa and is one of the most endangered species on the continent, and are medium-sized birds with black and white feathers, a pink breast patch, and distinctive pink webbed feet. They feed mainly on fish but will also eat squid and crustaceans. They breed in colonies along rocky coasts or islands where they build nests out of stones or mud, and are threatened by overfishing, oil spills, habitat destruction from urbanization, climate change, and predation by other animals such as seals or sharks. Conservation efforts have been successful in increasing their population but more work needs to be done to ensure their future survival.
