Maria Theresa Bland, born Maria Theresa Romanzini in 1769, was an Italian-Jewish actress and singer who made her stage debut as a child prodigy at the age of four. By the time she took on the travesti role of Madelon in George Colman's The Surrender of Calais in 1792, she had already established a successful career in London's theatrical scene.
