Gilbert. Born in London in 1842, Sullivan initially studied at the Royal Academy of Music before embarking on a successful career as a conductor and choirmaster. Their first collaboration, "The Sorcerer," premiered in 1877, and their most famous work, "The Mikado," followed in 1885. Together, they created a total of fourteen operettas, including "H.M.S.
