Nebula and star cluster NGC 6604, optical and ultraviolet image. NGC 6604 is the bright grouping of stars at upper left. It is a young star cluster that is the densest part of a more widely scattered association containing about 100 brilliant blue-white stars. The image also shows the clusters associated nebula (red), a cloud of glowing hydrogen gas and dust clouds called Sh2-54.
