Henry Andrews (1744-1820), English astronomer and mathematician. In 1768, Andrews began work on the Nautical Almanac. He was appointed compiler of the Nautical Ephemeries, and as Calculator to the Board of Longitude, which was set up to encourage the development of marine chronometers. He also became a major contributor to Old Moores Almanac for whom he compiled tables detailing the movement of the planets (astrological data) thus achieving popular fame
