On the temple exterior there is also a carving of Cleopatra and her son. Cleopatra represented herself as the reincarnation of an Egyptian goddess Isis and is shown here in that role. She ruled Egypt from 51 BC - 30 BC and was the last member of the Ptolemy dynasty of Egyptian rulers
