Claude Nativelle, French pharmacist

Claude Adolphe Nativelle (1812-1889), French pharmacist. Nativelle studied as a pharmacist in the 1830s. In 1843 he went on an expedition to Colombia. In 1844 he isolated and crystallised the active ingredient in foxglove (digitalis), used to treat cardiac arrhythmia.
