This engraving is from Africa (1670) by the London-based Scottish cartographer John Ogilby (1600-1676). This 767-page atlas describes the known lands and peoples of Africa, with 57 plate engravings of maps and artworks. Largely based on the 1668 work Naukeurige Beshryvinge der Afrikaenesche gewesten by Dutch geographer Olfert Dapper, the engravings were by 17th-century Dutch artist Jacob van Meurs
