The Battle of Novi, fought on August 15, 1799, was a significant turning point in the Russian campaign of the French Revolutionary Wars. In this pivotal engagement, the combined forces of Russia and Austria, led by Generals Suvorov and Mack, decisively defeated the French army under the command of General Massena. The battle took place near the Italian city of Novi Ligure, in present-day Italy. The French Revolutionary Wars, which began in 1792, saw France expand its territory and influence throughout Europe.
