Revolutionary is an adjective used to describe someone or something that has a major impact on society, culture, or politics and can refer to a person who leads a revolution or social movement, such as Mahatma Gandhi and Martin Luther King Jr., or it can refer to an invention that changes the way people live their lives, such as the telephone and the internet.
