This stunning hand-coloured copperplate engraving depicts the Plantain Shore-weed, Littorella uniflora (previously known as Littorella lacustris), a small, aquatic plant native to the shores of Europe, Asia, and North America. Littorella uniflora, also known as Plantain Shore-weed or Monkeyflower Shoreweed, is a low-growing, submerged or emergent plant that thrives in shallow, nutrient-poor waters.
