EDITORS COMMENTS
This evocative photograph captures the historic Queens Arms pub in Holloway, London, as it once stood before its closure and demolition in July 2018. The image presents a corner view of the pub, with its distinctive red brick facade and ornate signage, which proudly displays the name "Queens Arms" and the emblem of a queen holding a scepter. The pub, also known as a boozer or bar, was a beloved local institution in the Hoare and Company Limited's stable of public houses. The Queens Arms, located in the N7 7BY postal area, was a popular watering hole for residents and football fans, situated as it was next to Emirates Stadium. The pub's closure marked the end of an era for the community, leaving many with fond memories of the warm and welcoming atmosphere that had long been a staple of this local establishment. The back of the print reveals the address and postal code of the pub, as well as the unfortunate news of its demise. Though the building is no longer standing, this photograph serves as a poignant reminder of the history and character that once defined the Queens Arms in Holloway, London.
