This photograph showcases three distinct and intriguing waterbirds: the American White Pelican (Pelecanus erythrorhynchos), Spix's Guan (Penelope jacquacu), and the American White Pelican in the foreground. The American White Pelican, with its distinctive pouch under its beak, is the largest North American bird. They are social birds, often seen in large flocks, and are excellent fishers, using their large bills to scoop up fish from the water. In the background, the Spix's Guan, a South American bird, can be seen perched on a tree branch. This ground-dwelling bird is known for its unique appearance, with a bright red head and neck, and a black and white body. They are omnivorous, feeding on fruits, seeds, and insects.
