Madame Chiang Kai-Shek, born Soong May-ling on October 12, 1898, was a Chinese political figure, socialite, and philanthropist, best known as the wife of Chiang Kai-Shek, the leader of the Nationalist Government of China during the Chinese Civil War and World War II.
