EDITORS COMMENTS

The image showcases McWilliam alongside his remarkable sculptures titled "The Four Seasons" which were specially commissioned for the South Bank Exhibition as part of the Festival of Britain in 1951. "The Four Seasons" by McWilliam were prominently displayed at The Country Pavilion during the exhibition. Standing an impressive ten feet above ground level, these surrealistic creations truly mesmerized visitors with their modern artistry. This historic photograph not only provides a glimpse into McWilliam's artistic process but also highlights the significance of his work within the context of post-war Britain's celebration of culture and innovation.
