In this oil on panel masterpiece, Aertsen skillfully portrays a scene brimming with symbolism and hidden messages. The composition depicts a bustling kitchen filled with an abundance of food, representing the temptations of worldly pleasures. The artist's meticulous attention to detail brings to life an array of meat, fish, bread, vegetables, and fruits arranged in various stages of preparation.
