EDITORS COMMENTS
In this iconic photograph, taken on December 28,2005, at Arsenal Stadium in Highbury, London, Dutch footballing legend Dennis Bergkamp of Arsenal Football Club is seen celebrating after scoring the fourth goal against Portsmouth in the FA Premiership. Bergkamp, who spent 11 successful years at Arsenal between 1995 and 2006, is widely regarded as one of the greatest players in the club's history. The goal, which came in the 58th minute of the match, was a classic example of Bergkamp's exceptional skill and vision. Receiving the ball from Robert Pires on the edge of the penalty area, Bergkamp took a few touches to create space for himself before unleashing a powerful left-footed shot into the bottom corner of the net, leaving Portsmouth goalkeeper Jamie Ashdown with no chance. Bergkamp's goal not only sealed Arsenal's victory but also extended their unbeaten run in the league to 22 games, setting a new record for the longest unbeaten run in the history of the FA Premiership. The Dutchman's contribution to Arsenal's success during this period cannot be overstated, as he scored 120 goals in 325 appearances for the club. This photograph captures the moment of pure elation on Bergkamp's face as he celebrates with his teammates, having once again demonstrated his ability to produce moments of magic on the football field. The image serves as a reminder of the brilliance of Dennis Bergkamp and his unforgettable time at Arsenal Football Club.
