Fokker F. VIIA G-EBTS The Spider - 1929 - was the old Princess Xenia having been renamed

Fokker F.VIIA G-EBTS The Spider - 1929 - was the old Princess Xenia having been renamed after being bought by Mary, Duchess of Bedford. She called it The Spider after the legend, which inspired Robert Bruce - to try, try and try again.
Flown by Flt. Lt. Charles Barnard, with Robert F Little as co-pilot and navigator they, along with the Duchess, set off from Lympne in Kent on 2 August and arrived back in Croydon on the 9 August; the last leg from Sofia taking thirteen and a quarter hours. This proved that a flight to India and back could be done in eight days.
