It is claimed that under American mining conditions, it can move two tons of coal a minute. It is capable of cutting and loading coal and moving forward in one operation. This model, first of its kind to leave the United States was demonstrated on the surface at Donisthorpe Colliery, Leicestershire. It cannot be put below ground until the pit has stopped working for the Christmas holiday 1949
