Zachary Taylor in Camp, Mexico (1846-1848) This evocative image captures General Zachary Taylor (1784-1850) during his command in Mexico, leading the United States Army to victory in the Mexican-American War. Taylor, a career military man, rose through the ranks to become a respected and formidable military leader.
