Sir Henry, born in 1806, was a British military leader and civil administrator who played a pivotal role in the defense of the Residency during the Indian Mutiny. The Siege of Lucknow was a significant event in the history of the British Raj, marking the beginning of the Indian Rebellion of 1857.
