This evocative photograph captures the historic Royal Standard Public House, located in the heart of Walworth, London. The image, taken from the corner, showcases the pub's distinctive red brick facade and ornate signage, which proudly displays the name "Royal Standard" and the emblem of three lions passant guardant. The pub, which was also known as 226 Hillingdon Street, was a beloved local institution in the community, having served generations of patrons since its establishment. The Royal Standard, which was not affiliated with the Hoare and Company Limited, had a rich history and was a popular gathering place for residents of Walworth. Sadly, as of July 2018, the pub had been demolished, leaving behind only memories and photographs like this one.
