Manchester Cathedral, located in the heart of Manchester, Lancashire, England, is a historic and revered place of worship that dates back to 1215. However, this cathedral has not been immune to the trials and tribulations of history. During the 20th century, it suffered significant damage on two occasions. In the 1940s, Manchester Cathedral was hit during World War Two air raids, leaving it with extensive damage. The bombing campaign on Manchester left many buildings in ruins, including the cathedral. The cathedral's troubles did not end there. In 1996, it was targeted by the Irish Republican Army (IRA) who planted a bomb near the building.
