This historic photograph captures a significant moment in the maritime history of Hull, England, as King George V and Queen Mary perform the opening ceremony of the new Hull Dock on 26th June 1914. The King, dressed in his full regalia, stands to the left of the large bronze plaque affixed to the dock wall, while Queen Mary, wearing a beautiful white dress and crown, looks on with pride. Surrounded by a large crowd of onlookers, the royal couple are flanked by dignitaries and officials, all dressed in formal attire. The newly constructed dock, an engineering marvel of its time, stretches out behind them, its vast expanse of water reflecting the sun's rays and creating a shimmering effect.
