Her radiant beauty was renowned far and wide, and it was said that her hair shone like gold in the sunlight. However, Jorinda's life was far from idyllic, for she was under the cruel spell of the malevolent witch, Olwen. Olwen had transformed Jorinda's younger sister, Jorindel, into a bird, and had demanded that Jorinda bring her a white hind every day as a sacrifice. Fearful for her sister's life, Jorinda obeyed the witch, but her heart was heavy with sorrow. One day, as Jorinda was out hunting for the white hind, she came across a handsome and gallant knight named Jorindel. He was enchanted by Jorinda's beauty and begged her to marry him. Jorinda, torn between her love for Jorindel and her duty to her sister, confided in him her tragic situation. Jorindel, filled with determination and courage, vowed to save Jorinda and her sister from the clutches of the witch. He followed Jorinda to Olwen's castle, where he outwitted the witch and broke the spell that held Jorindel captive. In gratitude, Jorinda agreed to marry him, and they lived happily ever after.
