This evocative image captures a pivotal moment in the mythological tale of Algon, a skilled hunter from an Indian village in America during the early 1900s. In the photograph, Algon is depicted as a strong and determined figure, carrying the ethereal form of a Star-maiden on his back. The Star-maiden, adorned with intricate star-shaped headpiece, weeps silently as she is taken away from her own people, who are seen rising out of sight in the Osier basket she had left behind.
