This photograph captures a young and vibrant Franklin Delano Roosevelt (1882-1945) in the early years of his political career. The image, taken before his election as the 32nd President of the United States in 1932, shows FDR in a thoughtful and introspective pose, with a serious expression that hints at the weighty responsibilities that lay ahead.
