The most prominent tomb in the cemetery belongs to Admiral Edward Boxer, who played a crucial role in reorganising the port at Balaklava. His efforts, particularly in facilitating the embarkation of supplies, were recognised by Lord Raglan, the British commander-in-chief. Tragically, Boxer succumbed to cholera on 5th June 1855, just a year into the war. This engraving, produced in 1856, serves as a testament to the sacrifices made by these brave men and the historical significance of the Crimean War."
