He relocated to Edo (present-day Tokyo) at the behest of the Tokugawa government in 1630 where he worked with his brother and teacher. The composition is divided into two distinct scenes, with a serene summer landscape depicted on the right and a stark winter scene on the left. Upon closer inspection, one can notice signs of damage to these ancient artworks. However, through meticulous conservation efforts, new sections of paper were seamlessly integrated into the original paintings while preserving their authentic essence.
