EDITORS COMMENTS
Great moment as Olivier Giroud finds the back of the net for his first goal in an Arsenal shirt during the Barclays Premier League clash against Newcastle United at Emirates Stadium on December 29,2012. The French international striker joined the Gunners in the summer of 2012 from Montpellier HSC and had been eagerly anticipating scoring his first goal for his new club. With Arsenal leading 7-2 against Newcastle, the pressure was on for Giroud to make an impact and he did just that in the 77th minute. Lukas Podolski delivered a pinpoint cross from the left wing, finding Giroud unmarked in the penalty area. The striker took a composed finish, sending a low shot past Newcastle goalkeeper Tim Krul to add to the Gunners' tally. The goal was a fitting reward for Giroud's hard work and determination, and the crowd erupted in cheers as the Frenchman celebrated with his teammates. The victory, which saw Arsenal extend their lead at the top of the table, was a significant one and marked the beginning of a successful spell for Giroud at the Emirates. This photograph captures the excitement and emotion of the moment, with Giroud's jubilant celebration and the sea of red and white shirts in the background. It is a reminder of the thrill of football and the joy of scoring a goal for your team.
