Bryckden Place Farm, Waldron Sussex, is a perfectly run farm with the most modern dairy a T
Bryckden Place Farm, Waldron Sussex, is a perfectly run farm with the most modern dairy a T.T attested herd, entirely staffed by Germans. The Germans are entirely free and have either returned to or elected to remain in this country, where they arrived during the war as P.O.W. Mrs J V Dawson, owner of the farm, claims there is no favouritism. She found them keen, and hardworking and was delighted to have them when labour was impossible to get owing to the isolated location of the farm.

Bryckden Place Farm, Waldron Sussex - A Testament to German POWs' Dedication and Contribution
EDITORS COMMENTS
. This print captures the essence of Bryckden Place Farm, a remarkable agricultural establishment in Waldron Sussex. Renowned for its impeccable management and state-of-the-art dairy facilities, this farm owes much of its success to an unexpected source – a group of hardworking Germans. During the war, these individuals arrived in Britain as prisoners of war but have since become integral members of the farm's workforce. Mrs J V Dawson, the proud owner of Bryckden Place Farm, attests that there is no favoritism towards these former POWs; rather, their selection was based on their unwavering enthusiasm and strong work ethic. The isolated location posed significant challenges in sourcing labor for the farm. However, Mrs Dawson found solace in employing these dedicated Germans who willingly chose to remain or return to this country after experiencing wartime captivity. Their freedom allowed them to contribute wholeheartedly towards running one of Sussex's most successful farms. This historic photograph serves as a testament not only to the efficient operation at Bryckden Place Farm but also highlights how adversity can forge unlikely alliances. The image encapsulates unity amidst diversity and showcases how individuals from different backgrounds can come together for a common purpose – nurturing nature's bounty while building bridges across nations.
